NZ Post to trial Mercedes-Benz electric vans
Mercedes-Benz fully electric eSprinter and eVito vans will be evaluated by NZ Post in early 2022 ahead of market launch
NZ Post will conduct an extensive evaluation of the Mercedes-Benz zero carbon vehicles in a project supported by the Low Emissions Vehicles Contestable Fund, which is administered by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority to help accelerate the uptake of low emission transport in New Zealand.
The evaluation will take place in early 2022 around New Zealand.
“This is a very exciting step towards a more sustainable future for Mercedes-Benz Vans and our customers in New Zealand,” said Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia & New Zealand managing director Dianne Tarr.
“We are confident that the electric drive will gain more prevalence in New Zealand over the coming years. As it does, we will be ready with a strong customer-centric electric product portfolio, which offers the potential to lower operating costs and reduce environmental impacts.”
Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, eVito panel van and eVito Tourer are expected to be available to Kiwi customers during the second half of 2022.
